Key Facts
- Solution Engineer (SE) Trials are a specific trial type, accessible only to Solution Engineers (SEs)
- The key difference between SE trials and other trial types such as inbound and outbound, is that the SE starts the process on behalf of the customer
- SE trials offer the customer $500 and 60 days, followed by a 30 day ‘grace period’ before moving into the Always Free status
- The registration process is faster than other trial types
- SE trials can be extended and upgraded to a paid subscription
- SE trials can be set up prior to a customer meeting to avoid waiting for provisioning, or as a ‘leave behind’ after a meeting
- Multiple users can be added to a tenancy, however, the number of credits does not change and will burn down more quickly as more people are using them
- SEs can remain in the tenancy or be removed per the customer’s preference
The Process
Access to the SE trial tool, https://isrcentral.oracle.com/oalcrm/web/SETrialUI/, is restricted. SEs should have access by default, but if you believe you should have access and don’t, please contact Sales Help (saleshelp@oracle.com).
High level process steps:
- SE logs into the SE Trial tool
- SE finds their customer in the account finder
- Complete the form and agree to the terms and conditions
- Customer is pre-registered for a trial
- SE receives an email with a link to redeem the trial
- When they click the link, they are directed to the portal
- SE enters their Oracle email address (not the customer’s), then the offer will appear via a pop up
- Click on the pop up to redeem the offer and complete the sign up form. No credit card required.
- When the trial is fully provisioned, SE adds the customer as a new user to the tenancy. Please note: the customer must be granted full admin rights.
- At first log on, the customer must agree to terms and conditions
